A triterpene carboxylic acid, beta-sitosterol, a gly- coside 3,3′-di-O-methylellagic acid- 4-monoglucoside and O-pentamethyl flavellagic acid have been isolated.The bark contains 14% tannins, also beta-sitosterol.
