CLAW-HAND

Written by

A (contraction) deformity of the hand and fingers, especially of the ring and little fingers. The condition is generally due to paralysis of the ULNAR NERVE. A somewhat similar condition is produced by contraction of the fibrous tissues in the palm of the hand, partly due to rheumatic changes and partly to injury caused by the constant pressure of a tool against the palm of the hand. (See DUPUYTREN’S CONTRACTURE.)
